Impact of Manufacturing on the Construction Industry | On-demand webinar

Globally, in our modern world, our better understanding of the impact of traditional working methods across different industries on the environment, society and the world economy clearly demonstrates that we cannot continue as we have done in the past. But what is Impact of Manufacturing on the Construction Industry?

manufacturing and constructionSince the start of the new millennium, we have endured one of the worst economic crises the world has ever seen, declared an environmental emergency, and suffered from the most devastating pandemic in recent times. These three events alone have caused us to rethink and reevaluate how we live and operate.

The Impact of Manufacturing on the Construction Industry

Where some industries have been left crippled and on the brink of extinction, others have thrived and adapted to new ways of working by harnessing modern technologies. “Doing more with less” is a common theme found in both the manufacturing and construction industries, but how is this happening and what knowledge and lessons are being learned and shared between the two industries?

In this webinar, we shall explore these three questions; How are manufacturing processes changing the construction industry? What new technologies are being adopted? What are the benefits and how do they combat the challenges we face?

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand and appreciate the need for change
  • The challenges the construction industry faces
  • What technologies are commonly found in both the manufacturing and construction industries
  • What has construction learned from the manufacturing industry to help tackle these challenges.

The Autodesk AEC Collection Evolves

As the Architectural, Engineering and Construction Industry evolves so too is Autodesk’s AEC Collection of tools.

New tools are being added to the existing Collection help to extending and expand it’s current capabilities. The enhancements include access to visualisation, analysis and fabrication workflows.

The Autodesk AEC Collection Evolves

Alongside the existing applications, customers will have access to:

Autodesk Advanced Steel – 3D modelling software for steel detailing. Advance Steel detailing software is built on the AutoCAD platform. Structural engineering professionals use the software to help accelerate design, steel detailing, steel fabrication and steel construction.

Autodesk Fabrication CADmep – Autodesk Fabrication software includes Fabrication CADmep, Fabrication ESTmep and Fabrication CAMduct tools to create detailed MEP system models.

Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis professional  – Robot Structural Analysis Professional is structural analysis software for structural modelling to simulate wind load in the design and engineering workflow.

Autodesk Dynamo Studio – Dynamo Studio is a stand-alone programming environment that enables designers to create visual logic to explore parametric conceptual designs and automate tasks.

Autodesk Revit Live – Create immersive visualizations of Revit models in one click using the Autodesk Revit Live architectural visualization service.

Autodesk Structural Bridge Design – Perform integrated loading, analysis, and code checking of small to medium-span bridges. With these additions and simplifications to the AEC Collection, you can more easily access and implement the powerful BIM workflows you need for your projects.

The Autodesk AEC Collection

Alongside the changes being made to the AEC Collection, this will mark an end to the standalone sales of the following products:

• Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional

• Autodesk FormIt Pro

• Autodesk Vehicle Tracking

• Autodesk Structural Bridge Design

These products will still be available for purchase, however, they will have to be bought as part of one of Autodesk’s Industry Collections including the AEC Collection, M&E Collection and the Product Design Collection.
