Stephen Hall, Quadra's CAM-guru takes a look at partial Contour Selection using Inventor CAM

In today’s #Techtalk Inventor CAM Tutorial Stephen Hall talks about Partial 2d Contouring.

Inventor CAM Tutorial – Partial Contour

When using features such as 2D contour, it is not always the case that the entire contour requires machining.
If this is the case, then a partial contour can be selected, by re-selecting the already pre-selected contour.

This will then open a mini toolbar, in which the contour can be selected, be it closed or open.

Once ‘open contour’ is selected, simply choose the contours required and accept. Upon completion, the toolpath will now only follow the selected contours.

Inventor CAM is helping businesses simplify and streamline their machining processes. Inventor® CAM software simplifies the machining workflow with CAD-embedded 2.5-axis to 5-axis milling, turning, and mill-turn capabilities. The Product Design & Manufacturing Collection provides the tools you need for the design and manufacturing of your products. The collection includes:
  • Inventor
  • Inventor Nesting
  • Inventor Tolerance Analysis

Looking for Inventor CAM Training?

This course will allow users to successfully create programs featuring 2D and 3D toolpaths for transfer to a CNC machine in a manufacturing environment. The course is suitable for those looking to create workflows from a 3D modelling environment through to CNC manufacture.
