So, lets meet the team........
The Directors
Stephen Dobson, Simon Dobson, Rob Hargreaves and Keith Watkins formed Quadra Solutions in 1999, and since then, with their skills, knowledge and dedication, the company has gone from strength to strength. Their collective experience in the engineering sector is second to none and their understanding of customer's expectations is unsurpassable.
Stephen Dobson
Stephen has worked in the Computer Aided Design industry since 1989. Throughout that time Stephen has always worked with Autodesk and Zuken (formally Racal-Redac) to deliver first class design solutions for mechanical and PCB design. A resolute believer in the old adages of "Customer is King" and "Customers make Pay Days Possible", Stephen is passionate about customer service and satisfaction. "I would like Quadra to be the first choice supplier of mechanical CAD systems throughout the North West of England, and wider throughout the whole of the UK for PCB Design Solutions." Out of work, Stephen is married with three children and enjoys regular games of squash.
Simon Dobson
Simon has over 25 years of experience in both the Electronic and Manufacturing sectors. Since graduating in Mechanical Engineering his progression through the ranks has resulted from his ability, enthusiasm and determination. Simon drives the implementation of the strategic plan for the company to deliver a total solution in the most cost effective and time efficient manner. He feels it is essential to fulfill a motivational role for their team to achieve this. Simon is married with one child and enjoys skiing, diving, cycling and squash.
Rob Hargreaves
Rob has been working with Autodesk products and solutions since 1987. After studying mechanical and production engineering he worked as a draughtsman for nine years then a further eleven years as an Autodesk applications engineer. Outside of work Rob enjoys motorcycling and learning to play the guitar.
Keith Watkins
A graduate in Electronic engineering, Keith has been designing PCBs on CAD for 22 years, 17 of them on CADSTAR as well as support and training on all CADSTAR products for 15 years. Out of work Keith enjoys getting out on his motorbike and is a keen musician.
Product Specialists
Every single member of the product specialist team was selected because of their innate abilities and specialist skills and knowledge. The team have a very diverse collective experience in many different industry sectors ensuring that they are well equipped to appreciate their customers needs and exceed their expectations.
Kevin Doherty
Before moving into the CAD reseller industry Kevin's career began in the Export Automotive after market. Now in his 12th year of working within the Autodesk reseller channel, Kevin has spent the last 7 of these at Quadra, initially as a sales engineer and more recently as sales manager. In his spare time Kevin is a keen cyclist and enjoys holidays in Ireland with his family.
Simon Jackson
Simon joined Quadra in the summer of 2006. He has been in the printed circuit industry since 1996 starting as a graduate Engineer and then moving into a technical sales role in 2003. Now, using his extensive knowledge of the industry, Simon is primarily responsible for the selling of CADSTAR and maintaining Quadra's position as Europe's number one reseller. Simon is a dedicated Liverpool fan and enjoys watching the match with a pint!
Ben McGovern
Ben has been part of the Quadra team for 18 months. Awarded Autodesk Newcomer of the Year, Ben has done extremely well in a short period of time. Previously he worked at a waste water treatment company in a sales role, which was his only job after leaving Leeds University where he studied Mechanical Engineering. Ben is a very keen weight lifter and can be found in the gym most evenings.
Steve Livsey
Steve's been with Quadra since 2003 and has been in the industry selling and implementing CAD solutions since 1980. With a degree in engineering and experience in the precision engineering industry, Steve brings invaluable knowledge, expertise and experience with him to Quadra. Out of work Steve enjoys the gym, relaxing at the pub and holidays in Crete whenever he can.
Quadra React Technical Support Team
The Technical support team hold the kind of expertise which is second to none. With this expertise, however, also comes the professionalism and approachability which is essential in this field of work. With a diverse set of skills throughout the team, the technical issues reported are always dealt with rapidly and accurately.
Dave Wilkinson
Dave has been with Quadra just over 12 months now. Dave started his career with ICI as an apprentice fitter/turner and spent 13 years with the company undertaking a multitude of engineering roles. More recently Dave worked for seven years as a CAD/IT Manager at Spooner Vicars Ltd. Dave is a very creative member of the team and really enjoys designing and photography.
Andrew Canfield
Andrew joined Quadra in August 2007. After graduating from Coventry Polytechnic he worked in a support role for CNC sheet metal working machinery, and then moved to sheet metal fabrication before machinery design.
Matt Hutchinson
Joining Quadra in November 2007, Matt brings with him over six years of Inventor experience from his previous job, Matt has an acute talent in the design field and complements the members of the technical team perfectly with these unique skills.
Steve Taylor
Steve has been a member of the Quadra team since the company was founded in 1999. Working mainly in installation and maintenance, Steve has a wealth of experience and knowledge with CAD solutions and is more than capable of solving a vast array of general IT issues. In his spare time Steve likes to get out into the countryside for a bit of hill walking, but he also enjoys a game of pool and catching a film at the cinema.
PCB Design Bureau
Using only the most innovative technology, and combining this with some of the most skilled and experienced PCB designers in the UK, the design bureau houses a service that cannot be found elsewhere. The bureau team are diverse in their skill set which provides a more rounded and complete service for all the bureau customers.
Dave McClew
Dave has many years of experience with PCB design and has been with Quadra for five years. He has a range of experience in PCB design, from being self employed to working with Stephen at Option for five years. Out of work Dave enjoys a variety of hobbies, including learning Chinese, he also holds an Amateur Radio Station License.
Phil Holden
Having worked in PCB design since 1992, Phil brings a unique and well developed talent into the Quadra team. A qualified IPC Certified Interconnect Designer, Phil has been part of the design bureau since February 2007. Out of work Phil enjoys a pint and watching his team, Manchester United and playing his bass guitar in a local band.
Paul Harrison
Working within the PCB design bureau team for the past five years , Paul has many years of experience with CADSTAR and PCBs. Paul is a devoted Blackburn Rovers fan and really enjoys going to see a match on the weekend.
Mike McCartan
With extensive knowledge and experience in the PCB design field, Mike retains his enthusiasm for PCB design relishing the challenges posed by the ever changing technology and tools. When not driving his mouse, Mike plays an occasional game of golf and enjoys a pint over a game of dominoes at his local.
Mark Watkins
Mark has been working for Quadra now for four years. He has been designing PCB's for 21 years, all of which with CADSTAR. Mark is married and has two daughters, that in itself keeps him occupied, but he does enjoy listening to music and going to concerts, along with walking and cycling.
Accounts & Administration
With extensive knowledge and expertise in the account, admin and customer service sector, the accounts and admin team are more than adequately able to deal with a wide variety of queries and issues in a professional and friendly manner.
Angela Margerison
Angela has been with Quadra for nearly 6 years, having previously worked at Nynex in Manchester. In her spare time Angela is studying psychology at night school proving her dedication to lifelong learning and development. Angela's favourite role at Quadra is accounts and debt management.
Alissa Robinson
Alissa is the youngest member of the team and brings with her a strong background in customer service having previously worked at an estate agency for three years. Out of work Alissa enjoys keeping fit with regular visits to the the gym and swimming pool.
Marketing
The marketing role at Quadra is responsible for coordinating events, advertising, promotions and marketing related activity. In today's climate, these kinds of activities are more and more important to the success of a business and because of this, marketing is a function which is increasing in prominence within Quadra Solutions.
Charlotte Farnhill
Charlotte started with us in September 2007. Previously she worked for Jaguar for two years in marketing and more recently left a job in leisure sales to take up the marketing position at Quadra Solutions. Charlotte enjoys dancing and out of work takes a salsa class, she also enjoys playing hockey and competing in the local league.
Sam Heap
Sam joined Quadra with a background in recruitment for the engineering sector. Sam is a keen footballer and plays semi professional football for Clitheroe FC in the Unibond League. He also enjoys cricket, golf and poker.
