Local Man Rodger Wilkins Races ahead at the Lisbon ETU Triathlon European Championships
Local Blackburn triathlete Rodger Wilkins came back from the European Championships in Lisbon with a very big smile on his face. Finishing 8th out of 89 competitiors in his age group is a real achievement. Rodger admits he found the course hard work but in his own words "....if at any point round the course it doesn't feel like a struggle, then that would be when I would start to worry."
Rodger's main sponsor for the triathlon was Quadra Solutions. Simon Dobson from Quadra Solutions commented that "Rodger is a local man and we like to see local people do well. When our sales manager Kevin Doherty mentioned that Rodger was looking for a sponsor we got in touch with him and took it from there. We are delighted that we could help him do so well in the competition and look foward to seeing him in future competitions."
The traithlon that took place in Lisbon on the 10th and 11th May saw Rodger achieve some great times in each discipline. His complete course time was two hours and eleven minutes and fifty six seconds and breaks down into:
Swim: 20mins 42secs
Bike: 1 hour 11mins 26secs
Run: 37mins 29secs
