Autodesk Showcase

Autodesk Showcase design visualisation software, part of the Autodesk solution for Digital Prototyping, facilitates informed decision making on digital prototypes. With integrated raytracing, state of the art materials and an easy to use interface, Showcase simplifies and accelerates the task of creating accurate, highly realistic imagery from 3D CAD data. ShowcaseWithin a single application, it provides the tools required to prepare, process and present data to not only convey form, but also to create an environmental context to communicate brand character. Showcase provides an interactive environment in which users can present and review designs for important product decisions, locally and via remote sessions—resulting in an efficient and economical design review process.

Who Would Benefit From Using Autodesk Showcase?

*Any company that is involved in 3D design, whether it is in the Mechanical or Architectural industry with a requirement to generate photorealistic imagery with a minimal amount of effort.

*Designers that have to present their designs to a 3rd party. This scenario usually results in large amounts of time being spent generating rendered imagery (still or animated). Using Autodesk Showcase as a design review tool the user can switch between design variations within a real time rendering environment with a single mouse-click interactively with the customer.

*If users have been put off from purchasing products such as 3ds Max Design due to its complexity and training requirements, then Autodesk Showcase offers an ideal solution that is easy to use and affordable.

What Business Issues Can Autodesk Showcase Help Solve?Expensive, time-consuming design review and decision-making processes.Autodesk Showcase Visualisation software

Limited evaluation of multiple design variations due to time and cost of building physical prototypes.

Time consuming data preparation for visualization and review

Design models changing while visualization imagery is being prepared for design review

Expertise and expense required for creating high-quality design presentations

What Data Can Be Imported?

With Autodesk Showcase, engineers using various CAD software products can efficiently use their data enabling a fluid digital design workflow, eliminating rework, saving time, and preserving design intent. This technology has the added benefit of being able to merge data from various sources with the ability to keep its file association, if a change occurs in the original source the update can be reflected in the configured Showcase scene.

Data can be imported from Autodesk AutoCAD, AliasStudio, Autodesk Inventor, Maya software and other common formats such as DXF, IGES, STEP, STL, SolidWorks and ProE.

Make Visualisation Accessible

Autodesk Showcase Visualisation softwareYou don’t need to be a visualization expert to create stunning, professional design presentations.
Showcase offers the advanced functionality visualization experts need, while remaining accessible to even those new to visualization software. Its simple user interface, well-documented API, and scripting language makes Showcase accessible to a range of user abilities and needs. From a single application, you can easily prepare, process, and present compelling, high-quality imagery from 3D CAD data.
And because you can make design model changes while preparing imagery, you save time by performing design and visualization simultaneously.

Make Better Decisions, Faster

Autodesk Showcase software, part of the Autodesk solution for Digital Prototyping, helps you convey
the form and brand character of your conceptual designs.

Use Showcase to present multiple design options, locally and via remote sessions, before team members and customers make decisions. Viewing photorealistic imagery in real-world contexts gives reviewers the confidence to approve designs—while you enjoy an efficient, economical review process.

Who Uses It Now?

Autodesk Showcase has customer successes with a number of household names including Genesis-design GmbH, Indesit, Audi AG, Daimler AG, Volkswagon and RCD Except.

"Incorporating AliasStudio and Showcase into our design process has contributed significantly in increasing the expertise of our resources. This is of particular importance for Indesit as we are committed to developing our designer’s knowledge and expertise."
